Drishyam: The Conclusion held up well on its first Saturday. The Indian Express, citing the trade tracker Sacnilk, reported that Ajay Devgn’s film collected Rs 53.50 crore net in India on day 2 across 16,868 shows, lifting its two-day India net to Rs 115.50 crore. The same report put the India gross at Rs 138.60 crore and the worldwide gross at Rs 177.10 crore. Hindustan Times, which also carried the Rs 177 crore worldwide figure, said the film slowed down slightly on Saturday but still had enough momentum to leave the Rs 150 crore mark behind.

The film, the third and final part of the Hindi Drishyam franchise, released in theatres on Friday, October 2. With Sunday’s numbers still coming in, both outlets describe it as being on course for one of the biggest opening weekends a Hindi film has had.

What the Saturday numbers show

The Indian Express reported that the Rs 53.50 crore Saturday haul was a 13.7 per cent dip from the opening-day net of Rs 62 crore. One caution on the opening day itself: the outlet’s introduction quotes Rs 66.75 crore net for Friday, while the rest of its report and Hindustan Times work from Rs 62 crore. Both outlets agree on the Rs 115.50 crore two-day net.

Occupancy built through the day. According to Sacnilk figures carried by The Indian Express, Hindi 2D shows averaged 54.54 per cent on Saturday: 28.77 per cent in the morning, 51.46 per cent in the afternoon, 61.31 per cent in the evening and 76.62 per cent at night. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, quoted by the paper, wrote that business was “going into overdrive during the evening shows” and that the Saturday number showed the audience’s acceptance of the film.

Hindustan Times reported that the film recorded the fourth-highest advance-booking collection for an opening day by a Hindi film, with overall advance booking by release day above Rs 50 crore, and that Friday’s worldwide collection was Rs 93 crore.

Overseas collections

The Indian Express said the film earned Rs 20 crore in international markets on Saturday, taking its overseas total to Rs 38.50 crore. Hindustan Times framed the same business in dollars, saying the film had earned about $4 million internationally and performed better than most of Devgn’s earlier releases, even though overseas audiences did not show the same fervour as the home market.

The Indian Express also relayed territory figures from Taran Adarsh. In the United Kingdom the film took £126,309 on Friday and £180,130 on Saturday, a two-day total of £306,439 or roughly Rs 3.90 crore, with a marginal increase possible. In Australia it collected A$295,472 on Friday and A$394,649 on Saturday, a total of A$690,121 or about Rs 4.61 crore.

Sunday so far: early trackers, not final figures

Day 3 figures are intraday estimates and will be revised. The Indian Express, citing Sacnilk, reported that Sunday morning shows had around 42.38 per cent occupancy, and that the film had collected Rs 9.53 crore net by 11 am and Rs 13.98 crore net by noon. By 2 pm the tracker had Rs 23.08 crore net for the day, rising to Rs 29.61 crore at 3 pm, Rs 34.10 crore at 4 pm and Rs 45.04 crore net by 6 pm across 12,768 shows. Added to the Rs 115.50 crore from Friday and Saturday, that points to about Rs 160.5 crore net, which matches Hindustan Times’s statement that the film had reached Rs 160 crore net by 6 pm.

Advance sales for Sunday were also healthy. Sacnilk recorded Rs 30.20 crore in gross advance booking including blocked seats, with 8.51 lakh tickets sold, as of 6 am, or Rs 26.30 crore excluding blocked seats, according to The Indian Express.

How it stacks up against earlier films

The Indian Express set the film against its predecessors. The 2015 Drishyam earned Rs 5.85 crore on day 1 and about Rs 7.80 crore on day 2, and finished at around Rs 110 crore worldwide, while Drishyam 2 opened at Rs 15.38 crore, collected Rs 21.58 crore on day 2 and ended its run at around Rs 342 crore worldwide. By that measure Drishyam 3’s Saturday haul is more than double the second film’s.

Hindustan Times said the new film passed the lifetime collection of the original on Saturday morning, putting that total at Rs 107 crore, a figure that differs slightly from The Indian Express’s Rs 110 crore. By Sunday afternoon, Hindustan Times added, it had overtaken the lifetime hauls of Prabhas’s The RajaSaab (Rs 138 crore), Ajay Devgn’s own Shaitaan (Rs 144 crore) and Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 (Rs 150 crore).

Within Devgn’s career, The Indian Express reported that Rs 53.50 crore makes it his highest day-2 India grosser, ahead of Singham Again at about Rs 42.50 crore to Rs 44.50 crore. The outlet also said the film had the biggest opening day of Devgn’s career, ahead of Singham Again, which opened at around Rs 43.5 crore, and the second-highest Hindi opening of 2026 behind Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

Where the weekend could land

The Indian Express said trade estimates suggest the film could reach around Rs 190 crore over the opening weekend, depending on Saturday and Sunday. Hindustan Times placed the weekend in historical context: Dhurandhar 2’s Rs 443 crore start is far out of reach, as are Jawan (Rs 286 crore) and Pathaan (Rs 280 crore), but Drishyam 3 could pass War (Rs 166 crore) and Sultan (Rs 180 crore). Surpassing Animal (Rs 202 crore) and Stree 2 (Rs 204 crore) “may just be out of its grasp”, the outlet wrote.

Reactions and the Digger clash

The Indian Express’s live coverage also gathered audience and industry reactions. Producer G Dhananjheyan called the film a “brilliantly written sequel” on X, and filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh called it “simple, solid and gotey gripping”, adding that he wanted a little more of Tabu.

The weekend’s box office also had a Hollywood casualty. The Indian Express reported that Tom Cruise’s Digger earned only Rs 45 lakh on its first Saturday in India and Rs 1.30 crore gross over two days, according to Sacnilk, and suggested the clash with Drishyam 3 may have contributed.

Written and directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film brings back Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar alongside Tabu and Shriya Saran, with Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj among the new additions, according to The Indian Express. Sunday’s final tally will show whether it can close the weekend at the pace the trade expects.
