Ajay Devgn-starrer Drishyam 3: The Conclusion maintained a strong hold at the box office on its first Monday after a huge opening weekend. Hindustan Times reported, citing trade website Sacnilk, that the Abhishek Pathak directorial collected Rs 17.03 crore net in India on Monday, taking its domestic net total to Rs 193.53 crore. The report said the film recorded 24 per cent occupancy across 16,254 shows despite the expected weekday drop.

The Indian Express, however, reported a higher Monday figure based on a Sacnilk update available at 10 pm, putting the day's India net collection at Rs 21 crore. Earlier updates cited by the newspaper had the film at Rs 14.55 crore from 14,241 shows at 8 pm and Rs 12.39 crore from 12,809 shows at 7 pm. The differing figures reflect updates published at different stages of Monday's box-office tracking. Before Monday, Drishyam 3 had already accumulated Rs 176.50 crore net in India over its first three days and around Rs 273 crore worldwide.

Drishyam 3 sees expected weekday drop after huge weekend

Drishyam 3 opened with Rs 62 crore net in India on Friday, according to Hindustan Times. It dipped to Rs 53.50 crore on Saturday before recovering to Rs 61 crore on Sunday. That gave the film a three-day India net collection of Rs 176.50 crore. Hindustan Times said the corresponding domestic gross after the first weekend stood at Rs 211.80 crore.

Monday inevitably brought a sharp decline from the holiday-driven opening and weekend business, but the available figures still indicated a sizeable weekday collection. Trade analyst Joginder Tuteja, quoted by The Indian Express, said in an X post that the film was holding well, with Rs 20-21 crore expected. He noted that Friday was a major national holiday and described the Monday numbers as strong when viewed against that backdrop.

Hindustan Times reported that the Rs 17.03 crore Monday number took the film to Rs 193.53 crore net domestically, leaving it close to the Rs 200 crore mark. The publication said Drishyam 3 had performed exceptionally well over its first weekend and had outpaced the opening-weekend collections of films including War and Tiger 3.

Worldwide opening weekend reaches around Rs 273 crore

Drishyam 3 also registered a major worldwide opening. Hindustan Times reported a worldwide gross of Rs 273 crore after three days. The report said the film earned just over $6 million from international territories, while its India gross was Rs 211.80 crore. The publication said the film had amassed Rs 93 crore worldwide on its opening day alone after recording Rs 50 crore in gross advance bookings from India before release.

The Indian Express placed the three-day global figure at Rs 272.80 crore. According to the newspaper, the film added Rs 20 crore from overseas markets on Sunday, taking its international haul to Rs 61 crore by the end of Day 3. It also cited Comscore and Box Office Mojo figures showing around $2.7 million from just over 500 theatres in North America and more than $3.4 million from Europe and the Gulf. As of Sunday, the newspaper reported a global gross of $28.4 million, or around Rs 273 crore.

The Indian Express further reported that Drishyam 3 was the second-biggest film globally over that weekend, behind Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson's Verity, which earned $62.6 million worldwide. It said Drishyam 3 finished ahead of Tom Cruise's Digger, which opened to around $20 million worldwide, and Brad Pitt's Heart of the Beast, which collected around $28 million in its second weekend.

Film crosses several lifetime totals in opening weekend

Hindustan Times reported that Drishyam 3's opening weekend was already enough to surpass the lifetime worldwide totals of several films. Drishyam 3: The Conclusion was released in theatres on October 2. Hindustan Times reported that the third instalment brings Ajay Devgn back as Vijay Salgaonkar, alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Kamlesh Sawant. Saurabh Shukla reprises his Drishyam 2 role in a cameo, while Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj are among the new additions.

The film is co-written, produced and directed by Abhishek Pathak, according to Hindustan Times, and is produced by Panorama Studios and Star Studio18. The publication also reported that its ending differs from the Malayalam counterpart directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Mohanlal.
