Arijit Singh has announced a nine-city, stadium-scale India tour for 2027 as he marks 20 years in music. Hindustan Times reported that the singer will travel across Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Pune, Indore and Hyderabad between January and May 2027, making it his biggest India tour yet. The announcement comes after Arijit said earlier this year that he would stop taking new playback singing assignments and focus on solo artistic pursuits.

The Indian Express reported that the upcoming run will be Arijit’s first major India tour since that announcement and will celebrate his two-decade musical journey. His previous India tour, One Night Only – India Tour, concluded in Delhi in March 2023 after covering Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Delhi. The new tour will feature a large-scale production built around Arijit’s live vocals and songs from across different phases of his career.

Nine cities across India on the tour route

Hindustan Times reported that the tour will run across Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Pune, Indore and Hyderabad. The shows are planned as stadium presentations, with the singer performing material spanning his career. The publication said the setlist will bring together songs from different phases of Arijit’s two decades in music, including tracks that became immediate fan favourites as well as songs that have remained popular over the years.

The Indian Express also reported that the tour will begin in January 2027 and conclude in May. It described the run as a celebration of Arijit’s two-decade-long musical journey and said it would be his first major India tour since he announced that he would no longer take on new playback singing assignments.

Arijit addressed the milestone in a statement quoted by Hindustan Times. “20 years of music is a journey I feel very grateful for. The greatest part of it has always been the people - the listeners who have given these songs a life of their own. I’m really looking forward to travelling across India and experiencing that love together, live on stage. There are so many songs, so many memories and so many people to meet. I can’t wait," he said.

Stadium-scale production built around Arijit’s live vocals

The scale of the production is set to be one of the defining features of the tour. Hindustan Times reported that a custom multi-tiered stage will include an extended runway designed to take Arijit deeper into the audience and create closer sightlines across different sections of each stadium.

The shows are also planned to feature 360-degree spatial audio, kinetic LED fixtures, panoramic screens, laser arrays and stadium-scale pyrotechnics. Hindustan Times said that despite the extensive production, the central focus will remain on Arijit and his live vocals. The Indian Express likewise reported that the production is being designed as an immersive experience for fans.

Mohit Bijlani, Founder of Team Innovation, told Hindustan Times, “It is a genuine tribute to an extraordinary musical legacy, and we are thrilled to create an unprecedented live event. Every single detail of this journey is being designed to world-class standards, offering fans a live experience at a scale never seen before in his home country.”

The Indian Express also quoted Bijlani saying, “Every single detail of this journey is being designed to world-class standards, offering fans a live experience at a scale never seen before in his home country.”

Team Innovation produces tour with thumpN ticketing

Hindustan Times reported that the tour will be produced and promoted by Team Innovation and ticketed exclusively on thumpN. The Indian Express said the tour is presented by Kotal Solitaire and produced and promoted by Team Innovation.

Varun, CEO at thumpN, told Hindustan Times that he had been part of Arijit’s live journey for over a decade as a producer, co-promoter and ticketing partner. He said the tour was a major moment for the platform and described the range of generations he had seen attend Arijit’s concerts together over the years.

Varun said, “thumpN is 3 months old. For a tour of this scale to choose us at this stage of our journey is not something we take lightly. It's a milestone, and more than that, it's an extraordinary vote of confidence from people whose trust we've earned over years and across many chapters.”

Alaap Gosher, CEO and Co-Founder of TM Ventures, told Hindustan Times that the tour had brought together people with more than 13 years of experience working around Arijit’s live journey and a newer team of creative talent. He said the aim was to combine deep knowledge of the artist with fresh ideas while preserving the connection between Arijit and his audiences.

Tour follows Arijit Singh’s playback decision

The tour comes after Arijit announced earlier in 2026 that he would stop taking new assignments as a playback vocalist. The Indian Express quoted his earlier Instagram statement: “Hello. Happy New Year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not going to take any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it quits. It was a wonderful journey.”

The Indian Express reported that songs from earlier commitments have continued to appear in films despite the announcement. These include “Phir Se” from Dhurandhar: The Revenge, “Ghar Kab Aaoge” from Border 2, all five songs from the Junaid Khan-starrer Ek Din and “Tujhko” from Cocktail 2. The newspaper also reported that Arijit has lent his voice to Salman Khan’s Matrubhoomi.

Hindustan Times reported that Arijit rose to prominence after participating in Fame Gurukul in 2005 and went on to become one of Hindi cinema’s leading playback singers. The publication listed songs including Gerua, Channa Mereya, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Bulleya, Naina, Zaalima, Kesariya, Apna Bana Le, Jhoome Jo Pathaan, Tum kya Mile, Ve Kamleya and Chaleya among his hits. It said his most recent song is Jai Jai Ram from the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Ramayana, which is set for a Diwali 2026 release.
